Help for students renting property for the first time
Students are in the process of preparing for the new academic year, which for many means living away from home for the first time. But if you have never been a tenant before it can be daunting working out what your obligations are and what you need to watch out for.

Thankfully, there is help at hand. The Tenancy Deposit Service (DPS) has put together a series of You Tube Shorts to help students and their parents understand their responsibilities around taking on a rental property. These are helpful in a multitude of ways, making the end-to-end tenancy process easier to understand for those not familiar with it.

There is also advice on the return of the deposit and understanding why deductions could be made if student tenants fail to fulfil their obligations along the way.
